Our history
Katigon Consult was launched in 2023 with the vision of serving public works agencies facing ongoing resource challenges.
This vision was developed over several years of working in multiple public works agencies and consulting design roles. These experiences highlighted the growing backlog of important, necessary initiatives that often take the back burner to the many emergency responsibilities held by public works professionals.
Our founder, Kati Horner Gonzalez, found herself looking for ways to tackle organizational needs without jeopardizing levels of service. Hiring additional staff required several steps to justify and onboard and using consultants came with a steep learning curve if they didn't understand government operations.
And so, Katigon Consult was born!
We are a company dedicated to elevating public works departments by providing strategic, hands-on support in the easiest, most convenient way possible.

Katigon Consult was created with one mission in mind:

Public Works agencies across the country continue to face resource constraints while infrastructure needs grow. Katigon Consult was created to assist in eliminating backlog while maintaining (and improving!) levels of service and optimizing departmental operations. This approach allows us to provide real-time, immediate results while simultaneously developing long-term strategy.
We serve as an extension of agency staff to supplement current levels of service and community needs. That hands-on experience working with public works teams allows us to develop a deep understanding of your specific agency - this gives us the necessary insight to develop strategies that are truly unique to your goals, challenges, and needs.
We not only recognize the wide range of responsibilities held by public works agencies, but we also have experience in it. This experience allows us to customize each contract to meet the specific needs of our clients.

Kati Horner Gonzalez has worked in the public works industry for nearly 20 years. Spanning roles including engineering design, construction inspection, city engineering, and public works director, Kati utilizes her wide range of public works expertise to serve as a trusted extension of agency staff to organizations around the country.

Kati is a licensed professional engineer in the states of Missouri, Kansas, and Colorado.
